GB come home with record breaking Medals
On Sunday the 16th
of March the winter Paralympics sadly drew to a close along with the rest of
the winter games it really has been spectacular.
The GB Paralympics team have come home in style with a record breaking 6 medals one of
them being Gold thanks to Kelly Gallagher and her guide Charlotte Evans. Also GB’s Wheelchair Curling team got bronze. Jade Etherington and her guide Caroline Powell, took bronze in the same competition and won a whopping three silver medals in the visually impaired downhill. In a interview the paralymians explain how they felt.
“Its amazing we are so proud that we have been able to inspire people, It’s not all about wearing a medal around your neck it’s about people looking up to you.” Thanks to the paralympians there will be a brighter future for those who are disabled There are now calls for more UK funding to help create future winter Paralympic stars.
The Paralympics inspired many to get up and go for anything. We should look up to those who have a disability well do they really have a one, to have a disability it means to be disable but I think that the Paralympics has should me and the rest of the world just how able these people are.

He's excited about it but says there are still a lot of decisions that need to be made. It's understood the team could start playing in 2016. |
Glasgow 2014: Scotland's
2014 British Gymnastics Championships
Scottish gymnast Daniel Keatings says the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow can be "the Olympics I never had". Keatings, 24, missed London 2012 with injury having been a leading member of the British team in the build-up. He faces English rivals including Louis Smith in this weekend's British Championships in Liverpool, a key selection event for Glasgow 2014. "It'll be awesome competing against England. There's already a good bit of banter in training," said Keatings. |
